So much has happened since my last post that I don't really know where to start, tho...
We had to make the most difficult decision of our lives up to this point....Daisy, the killer puppasaurus, is no longer with us :( She developed an aggressive form of k-9 cancer in her mouth and jaw, forcing us to have her put to sleep. After nearly 14 years of life with her, this almost killed me. She was, for all intents and purposes, my best friend, and my life was better for having her in it. There will NEVER be another like her.
That being said, after much pleading by the children, and needing a distraction to help dry my tears, we found

Sooner!!!!!!!!!
A toy rat terrier...she's no Daisy, but she's special in her own right...
And of course, the boy is smitten!
It's been a really long time since there's been a puppy in the house, and I have to admit that she's definitely a handful, but she's incredibly sweet and I love her.
On the knitting front, socks have been flying off the needles at a pretty good clip...5 pair in 2 months, with another pair almost half done...now that softball and baseball season have ended, I'm hoping to regain a little sanity around my home, but with jiu-jitsu, hitting lessons, strength and endurance training and try-outs for softball just around the corner, I don't think I'll hold my breath on that...lol

Sorry about Daisy :( So many friends (3) have lost their fur friends in the last couple of months. Glad you found Sooner who won't take Daisy's place but I'm sure will forge a new spot in your heart and family.
Am just reading this right now and it leaves me with tears in my eyes. So sorry for your loss. I know how you feel, been there done that. It is such an awful decision, but it stops their suffering!
And it is good you got a distraction :-) We have a rescue rattie ourselves and she is pure joy. Knows what she wants but too cute to be angry with her...
